Nobody looks forward to having heating service or repairs done to their home, but eventually all mechanical things will require servicing. Horizon Services recommends that homeowners follow manufacturer recommended maintenance schedules for their heating equipment which would help to eliminate an urgent stressful situation, such as having no heat during a rare extended cold spell, where there is a worry that indoor temperatures could fall low enough to harm water pipes in the home. We have a maintenance program designed to make it easy for homeowners to ensure that this regular servicing is performed. In the case of the emergency no heat situation we have extended business hours of 7 am to 7 pm – 7 days a week in which there is no additional charge for our services, and are also available outside of these times as well, so we are always there when you need us.
Furnace Repair and Replacement
It never ceases to amaze us how often gas furnaces tend to break down on clients during the most inopportune times, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays seem to be fair game for Murphy’s Law to put the pressure on. In most cases unexpected furnace repairs can be avoided by following the furnace manufacturers maintenance schedule; which is the schedule that Horizon Services has used for the basis of our maintenance program. We contact you to remind you of the service, so you don’t have to worry about it, or forget to have it performed. Don’t forget that one of the most important things a homeowner can do to prevent an unexpected repair is to change the air filter in your furnace, on a regular schedule. Heat Pumps
Heat pumps have the ability to move heat energy from one environment to another, and in either direction. This allows the heat pump to both bring heat into an occupied space, and take it out. Many heat pumps also use an auxiliary heat source for heating mode. This means that, even though the heat pump is the primary source of heat, another form is available as a back-up. Electricity, oil, or gas are the most common sources. This is put in place so that if the heat pump fails or can’t provide enough heat, the auxiliary heat will kick on to make up the difference.
