Professional Pipe Repair and Replacement
What is repiping? Repiping refers to replacing all the pipes, valves, and connections in a home. The service can also extend to the plumbing outside the house, such as the sewer line. This may be necessary if the plumbing system is old or there’s widespread corrosion or other deterioration.
Depending on the size of the home, complete pipe replacement can take anywhere from two to seven days. A common question is whether you can continue living in the house; the answer is usually yes. However, it is often faster to repipe an unoccupied residence. That said, many households don’t have that option, and our plumbing team can work around your needs.
Most pipe repair issues are local to a particular area of the home. If there’s a bad pipe, we’ll generally recommend replacing it. We offer repair options, such as rewelding, epoxy, and clamps.
If the problematic pipe is underground, we’ll have to choose between excavation or a trenchless method. If we dig, we’ll remove the compromised pipe and install a new one. Plumbers generally try to avoid digging as it is disruptive, time-consuming, and expensive, but for some pipe replacements, there’s no other way.
For many issues, however, modern trenchless pipe repair methods are highly effective. Pipelining is a method that works well when there are cracks throughout a pipe. A plumber will insert a resin-saturated liner and then inflate it within the pipe. When it cures, it will restore the pipe’s inner walls.
If the pipe has deteriorated too much for that, pipe bursting is an alternative. This is where a plumber uses a bursting head. The head disintegrates the old pipe while installing a new pipe at the same time.
